Re: Tabaluga's

I had to layer up. Hands cold a lot. Some people are still warm without the heater on. Love the idea of a wood fire.... Looking at the flickering flames...Lol.... The doing the work to get it happening is beyond me atm. Respect @TAB

Re: Tabaluga's

thats good work over for the day @Meowmy

couldnt get warm now too hot. think must be sick .

Re: Tabaluga's

Yeah @TAB I've been "burnt" by damp wood before so now I order it a couple of months earlier so I can stack it in the sun and I start splitting it early to help it dry out. I've still got some of last years wood so that's definitely dry.

@Appleblossom I love watching my fire it's calming. For me, it keep me warm twice; once when I'm chopping it and once when it's in the fire. It's great exercise too.

Re: Tabaluga's

Hi @Till23  yes,had been using last years from out in open, hasnt rained in months, then it did the other day and I picked a few out of the dirt. My bad. once coals get going doesn't matter tho.

Re: Tabaluga's

Unfortunately @TAB it's been bucketting down here where I live for last few weeks on and off so all wood stacked under cover but it gets the sun in the morning. The bottom layer of one stack is going to be wet because water racing down that bit of a slope now. Hopefully it will stop raining and the sun comes out at some point so it can dry out!

Re: Tabaluga's

when it rained here, I used to put wood under cover /and or inside next fire for a few days

It burned really well in general, I was pushing it with damp wood and while experimenting with smaller fires, less kindling and accelerants @Till23
