@Former-Member what were they called before we got Americanised? I asked someone couple years ago and they claimed it was called cupcakes here as well. It wasn’t. At least til 1970s maybe. Saw something on tv other day like ‘pattie cakes’ maybe @Shaz51??? ... anyone? @Owlunar ?

@TAB I had no idea that cupcakes used be called something other thank cupcakes! Do tell me if you find out what they used to be called.

They are sometimes called patty cakes.  Both the baking trays and paper casings are both referred to as patty pans.
