Something’s not right

Re: What about the aftermath?

I can relate so well to post by @Faith-and-Hope , so close to my experience for so many years, and I am recently wondering if I made the right decision  when I chose to keep the family together. The years have had many positive times, but also many bad times, usually when my husband had stopped taking his medication. These times usually meant great difficulty  getting help from the medical profession due to his ability to assume the charming facade he has developed since he was young. I have always been surprised that the psychiatrists have not seen past it. Then on the occasions he has been obviously psychotic, of course help has been available at once. The public system we are using however has many changes of psychiatrist, who often do not look at past history, and I have been accused of exaggerating his behaviour which can be quite a problem. As for medical doctors, the diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder is apparently not significant to them. Having reached old age, I am now wondering what the life of my sons and myself would have been if I had left the marraige at the start, if especially my son's lives would have been better.
