Re: All Things Sport...

Hi auntie @Scarecrowe ... glad to see you, and happy the headache has finally subsided.

Umm @MDT  ... you THINK Brett Lee played for the Sixers!  Indeed he did, and it was when they won the inaugural BBL 8 years ago.  Sixers won the first year the BBL started and been runner up twice.  Perth are the most successful team, having won 3 times, and runner up a few times too.  How lucky are you Ham to have your Dad have SCG membership!

Now @Zoe7 I have a theory about why neither Maxwell nor Stoinis were selected for the touring ODI team for India.  I may be a cynic, but I dont think I'm too far off the mark.  My theory is that Cricket Australia are desperate for the Melbourne Stars to finally win the BBL title.  I think they start each year as favourites, have streaks of brilliance, are chock full of stars both local and imported ... but fail to produce a title time and  time again.  Given that the Indian tour is smack in the middle of the BBL comp, my theory is that CA did not select them so they could continue to produce wins for The Stars and help to hand them the title on a platter.  Certainly both Maxwell and Stoinis's current good form in both short forms of the game warrant their selection.  And I think, not only were they not selected, they were actually dropped from the team.  Anyway thats my theory.  I would be very disappointed to think Maxwell may have been overlooked as a result of his recent MH time out.

Re: All Things Sport...

Hey @MDT  my Jedi friend

Yes Brett Lee did play for the sixers when he retired from international cricket.  The first year the BB was broadcast on tv he was playing with them for about 2-3 years.  I am a huge Brett Lee fan (he is a babe lol) and I barracked for the sixers until he retired fully then I had to decide to stick with them or change.  I was torn between the Hurricanes (being my state team) or the Renegades (as my fav colour is red).  I went with the fav colour theme lol.  Pretty stupid reason to follow a team.  Hurricanes are my second team (unless the play the Renegades).  Like following a Tassie team but the north/south rivalry here just stops me from barracking for them fully. lol.  Yep I know I am weird.....and proud of it lol.  So you nearly had three sixers fans here, @MDT  @Former-Member  and myself...............

@Zoe7  knows all about the north/south rivalry thing we have going on in this state lol.

Re: All Things Sport...

Hello @KB23   welcome to the sports thread.

Re: All Things Sport...

Oooohhh I like that theory @Former-Member   very interesting!!!!!

I do wonder though if his time away from the game had a little to do with it.  Maybe CA thought to ease him back in and not put the pressures of international cricket on his shoulders for this season.

I hope it had nothing to do with their selections but you do have to wonder.  But I do like your theory way better.

Re: All Things Sport...

Thanks @Zoe7
